Almost every business we assess has backups. Far fewer can tell us when a restore was last tested, how long a full recovery would take, or whether the backup repository could itself be encrypted by ransomware. Those three questions separate a backup that works from one that merely runs.
We design and operate backup properly: multiple copies, at least one immutable so it cannot be altered or deleted even with stolen administrator credentials, and one off-site. Jobs are monitored, failures are chased rather than logged, and restores are tested on a schedule with the results sent to you. If a test fails, that is the point of testing.
Recovery time and recovery point objectives are agreed in advance and designed for, not estimated afterwards. Knowing that a critical server takes four hours to restore is a business decision; discovering it during an incident is a crisis.

How is this different from what we have now?
Usually in three ways: an immutable copy so ransomware cannot delete it, active monitoring so failures are noticed the same day, and scheduled restore tests with evidence. Many existing setups have none of the three.
What is immutable backup and do we need it?
A repository that cannot be modified or deleted for a set period, even by an administrator. You need it because modern ransomware deliberately targets backups first — without immutability, an attacker with domain admin can destroy your recovery option before encrypting anything.
Can you protect Microsoft 365 as well?
Yes, and you should. Microsoft protects its platform, not your content against deletion or malicious removal. That is covered under our Microsoft 365 and endpoint backup service.
